This full moon is the first moon after the spring equinox, heralding the half of the year when the days are longer than the nights, and light has greater influence than the dark.
But summer is not here yet, our dreams lie in the buds, before they blossom. How do you use the budding trees to remind you to let your dreams blossom as well?
Throughout the winter, the Earth’s energies have been resting deep within her core. With the Spring Equinox (March 21, 2005), the Budding Trees Moon is the first full moon of Spring.
To Peruvians, their summer brings the rains to nourish the earth (Pachamama or Mother Earth) so She may bring forth life. They believe that seeds hold the potential of what may be, and when planted in the earth manifest that potential. Each spring, they make offerings to Pachamama in gratitude of what She’s brought forth in the previous year and include prayers for the coming season’s potential abundance. Their intention is to both acknowledge and appreciate what the Earth has given in previous years, but also to dream (through prayer) their life (or this potential) into being. That is, because “the seed is the dream of life” (Perkins 4) [1], they use the spring to dream their dreams, or seeds, into being, thereby creating their future. This is a conscious action of leading their lives energetically to draw forth that which they desire.
Dreaming our world into being may seem symbolic, whimsical, or even fanciful to us Westerners, but to them, we live in a world of energy, where everything is light bound into matter. As energy beings, we constantly interact with the energies around us. Therefore, through the natural laws of affinity, we draw energies to us, based on our own energy makeup. The energies that are drawn to us are those energies that we are focused on. Everyone has experienced this natural law of energy affinities at work in their lives in some way. As a result, offerings of gratitude and prayers/dreams for the coming spring are an energetic act to dream one’s world into being.
As this spring buds, what are you focusing on? (See this month’s Abundance Tip on focusing on abundance.) Capitalize on this time of budding trees, flowers, grasses, animals, birds, and all other manner of life to let it energetically rejuvenate you from the winter’s rest. What’s budding for you right now? What do you want to bud this season? Are the answers different? Let your focus and your dreams bud as well in a purposeful way. Lastly, take some time to consciously make offerings of gratitude and prayers/dreams for the coming spring, so that you can dream your potential into being. In this way you too can lead your own life, not merely comment on it after the fact.
Next Month: Frogs Return Moon The frogs can live in all three worlds. As you hear them return, learn to align these three worlds within you to bring prosperity, healing, and abundance.
