The Ripe Berries Moon falls in the middle of the summer season. This is a time of abundant fruits and vegetables that summer offers. Berries are particularly abundant this time of year: strawberries, blue berries, and raspberries, although blackberries are still to come later in the summer.
It’s easy to appreciate the abundance nature offers when seeing a berry plant full of ripe berries, its color dotting bright against the dark green leaves of the plant, and when biting into the sweet, ripe flesh of the berry. Seeing the variety available when visiting the vegetable/fruit section of your grocery store, a local fruit stand, or farmer’s market can also bring forth a strong appreciation for the abundance of this time of year.
Hopefully, you’re taking advantage of this time of abundance and bringing a variety of locally grown, organic, fresh fruits and vegetables to your breakfast table, lunchbox, snacks, meals, picnics, cooking, and baking. Most berries (especially blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) are easily made into jams or jelly that can be used throughout the year or given away as gifts at Christmas or other events. Blueberries are great in pies, cakes, and muffins. Strawberries make great snacks, desserts, or breakfast treats. Ideas for using berries are as abundant as their fruits during this season.
Take time during this Ripe Berries Moon time to appreciate the abundance nature has to offer. Perhaps it’s in the succulent flesh, rich colors, or firmness of the fruits and vegetables you’ve purchased for your meals. In whatever way you chose, appreciating that which nature provides allows you to recognize and bring abundance into your life. Therefore, as you relish nature’s abundance, naturally align yourself with this abundant nature so that you can bring abundance into your own life as well.

Next Month: The Ripe Berries Moon falls between July 23 and August 22, according to Sun Bear in Dancing with the Wheel: The Medicine Wheel Workbook © 1991 that we’ve been using. Therefore the July full moon on the 21st and the August full moon on the 19th are both Ripe Berries Moons. While this month has focused on the sweetness and abundance of the ripe berries, next month will cover the thorns that protect the berries’ juicy fruit.
