The Ducks Fly Moon is the first moon of the fall season after the autumnal equinox. Since day and night are equal at the equinox, this is a time of learning about balance or learning what balance truly is. So during this moon, reflect on balance in your life. Where do you feel balanced? Where do you not? What will it take to bring more balance into your life?
The Ducks Fly Moon is the first moon of the fall season after the autumnal equinox. The time of the equinox is when the length of daylight and length of nighttime are the same. Thus the equinox time is a time of learning about balance or learning what balance feels like in the body.
Balance may be uncomfortable to experience, especially if you are unaccustomed to it. Balance requires symmetry or equilibrium between two realms. Rarely measured scientifically, balance is a perception. Usually, when we are content, we believe ourselves to be balanced or in balance. When we are discontent, we believe ourselves to be out of balance. Thus frequently, as our perceptions change, so do our requirements for what it means for us to be in a balanced state. Strange, indeed!
Just as this moon teaches us to bring inner balance to our lives, the Ducks Fly Moon also teaches us to balance both earth and sky, just as ducks spend time on the earth, so they also fly. This moon wants us to learn to embody and learn to draw from both the earth and the sky (heavens). As we replenish our energy bodies, know that by learning to draw energies from both the earth and the heavens will indeed create a more energetically balanced inner state of being.
So during this moon, reflect on balance in your life. Where do you feel balanced? Where do you not? What will it take to bring more balance into your life? And as you reflect on bringing balance into your life, bring that energy from both the heavens and earth, and balance heaven and earth within.
