After the holiday rush, it’s time to rest and renew. Take time to rest and take into account the health of your brain – that’s the idea behind a mental health day.

After the holiday rush, it’s time to rest and renew. Take time to rest and take into account the health of your brain – that’s the idea behind a mental health day.

You’ll probably know if you need a mental health day – and, in fact, every one needs on now and again. But good indicators are problems, such as the following:

·       Stress job or stressful life

·       Over thinking – over active brain. Especially at night when you’re trying to sleep

·       Strenuous thinking job

·       Multi-tasking life

You really want to take time during this Earth Renewal Moon to give yourself a rest so you can renew your energies so you can come back strong and be available. That is, take time off now before you get sick and need more than just one mental health day.

So to set some ground rules for your mental health day, you need to remember that when you take a day to yourself, it’s your day. It’s not a day to do something for someone else, catch up on errands, shuttle others around, or some other busy active event filled day. Maybe you can schedule a SPA visit, but don’t have plans for the day. Instead, allow the day to unfold as it will. Go into the stillness of the season, the quiet of a snowy day, the white expanse, the muffled emptiness of a stark winter day. Merge with the season’s emotion and energy. Let the day be discovered.
