March 21 is the Spring Equinox when the day and night are the same amount or an equal balance of time. So we picked this book as a way to emphasize or reexamine the concept of balance in one’s life. Balance may not always represent a 50/50 split as in the Equinox and time, but it means that there is a give-and-take or an appreciation for and understanding of multiple perspectives.
In Being in Balance: 9 Principles for Creating Habits to Match Your Desires © 2006, author Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains how all the world is in balance, with the exception of the humans on the planet. For example, the first principle is a balance between one’s dreams of a good and satisfying life and one’s habits. This principle explains that it is in our dreams where we create our reality. When what we do each day our habits do not mesh with what we perceive about our life, then we will experience a discontent or dissatisfaction about life.
Being in Balance is a great small book, packed with lots of insights, written in an interesting and thoughtful manner. With each principle, Dyer explains the principle and how to recognize it; he also includes tools to help you learn how to create an inner balance. Even the small paperback size with padded hardback covers makes it feel balanced in some way in your hands as you read.
Enjoy reading it, and then pass it on to someone else you know.
