The Strong Sun Moon reflects the Sun on the longest day of the year. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, summer begins the time of nature’s abundance. Our task is to align ourselves with this abundant nature so we can tap into this abundance in our own lives.
The Strong Sun Moon reflects the Sun on the longest day of the year or the Summer Solstice (June 21). So as summer begins, it’s almost hard to imagine that the days are already beginning to shorten as we move towards the shortest day of the year or the winter solstice on December 21.
This summer, the Strong Sun Moon will reflect a Blue Moon or a 13th moon of the calendar year. That means that two full moons occurred in the same month. As full moons occur every 28 or 29 days, this is truly a rare occurrence. The folklore tells us to do something equally rare or memorable for a Blue Moon. What are you planning? If not that day, then that following month?
For us in the Northern Hemisphere, summer begins the time of nature’s abundance. Over the next few months, fruits, berries, seeds, vegetables, grains, all of nature’s bounty become available for harvest. This is a time of acknowledging nature’s abundance. It is a time where we can marvel that a small seed can become a large plant with its own abundant harvest.
Nature is truly abundant. Our task is to align ourselves with this abundant nature so we can tap into this abundance in our own lives. As the sun sets on longest day of year and reflects the Strong Sun Full Moon of the Blue Moon, allow yourself to reflect on nature’s abundance and through its appreciation, bring abundance into your own life.
