Ripe Barries Moon, July 30

The Ripe Barries Moon is the time to contemplate what you’ve planted this spring and nurtured this summertime. The best way to track these successes is through a written success journal.

What small successes can you harvest right now?

This Ripe Berries Moon is a time of beginning the harvesting of fruits/vegetables that have been growing since the spring and ripening with the long summer days. These small fruits are available earliest because of their small size. A more thorough harvest will occur later in the year before the first frost in the fall.

Contemplate what you’ve planted this spring and nurtured this summertime. What small fruit has ripened this year that you can pick off and appreciate? Or what small successes can you acknowledge?

The best way to track these successes is through a written success journal. A success journal can be short phrases or statements answering the following statements:

  • Today’s successes are …
  • Today I’m grateful for …
  • I acknowledge/praise myself for …
  • Today I celebrate …

When you give credence to what you've accomplished by saying it out loud or by writing it down, you honor what you've done. By honoring your accomplishments, you give yourself confidence, appreciation, and understanding that build with your successes (however small). You can literally make it through harder times with the knowledge that you store in your success journal.

It’s important to recognize that harvesting berries is a continuous process, because all the berries do not become ripe at the same time. Therefore, it’s a time of reflection on your nurturing process to see what is available to harvest; harvest; then wait another day or so before reflecting and harvesting again.

This periodic and continuous process is not usually how we think of honoring our accomplishments. Usually we think that we can only give credence to what we've accomplished when the big project is all done. Not true. It's best if you honor all the small accomplishments along the way that led to the larger accomplishments. This perspective can keep you going, especially when projects are lengthy or you reach some stumbling blocks along the way. So allow yourself to reconstruct your mindset and expectations to small successes.

What small successes (ripe berries) can you harvest this Ripe Berries Moon?

Next Month: Harvest Moon on August 28
